Primary Responsibilities

The Overnight Manager oversees the direction and administration of Front Office, Guest Rooms, Housekeeping and Overnight Cleaning. During the overnight hours, the Overnight Manager must ensure the safety and security of the facilities and overnight guests. The Overnight Manager is responsible for representing The Quin brand, supporting the department in achieving the operational and financial goals, maintaining the facilities in accordance with The Quin standards, and ensuring high member and guest satisfaction.

About This Role

  • Provide leadership and instill a culture and work environment based upon respect; providing opportunities for staff to learn, grow and develop their abilities through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment
  • Understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines for The Quin House
  • Obtain necessary security and first aid certifications and managing any emergency situations
  • Maintain rooms inventory controls including, but not limited to, room accommodation and rate management
  • Manage FOH and Housekeeping weekly inventory
  • Complete daily inventory of overnight supplies and chemicals. Placing weekly orders for the overnight cleaning team
  • Conduct regular Lost & Found audits
  • Manage financial reporting and forecasting for FOH and other departments
  • Data analytics for Guest Rooms and Member reports
  • Champion initiatives to increase member satisfaction
  • Ensure accurate check in and check out
  • Solve folio and billing discrepancies
  • Compile timely and accurate daily rooms revenue and occupancy details, 'Daily Q' property-wide communique, and additional reporting as necessary
  • Maintain composure under pressure and thrive in a fast paced work environment
  • Collaborate with the assignments of housekeeping staff
  • Manage Overnight Cleaning tasks and oversee the cleaning team
  • Address, communicate, and resolve all member complaints
  • Report any maintenance repairs to maintenance staff, managing maintenance challenges during overnight off hours
  • Assume functions of other Club roles as necessary
  • Coordinate with security teams to ensure comfort and safety of overnight guests and associates
  • Handle all member interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism - accommodating special requests whenever possible; assisting members in all inquiries in connection with The Club services, hours of operations, in-house events, directions, etc.
  • Respond to all member requests and inquiries in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure communication of vendors, restaurants, museums, and other local attractions is updated and current.
  • Establish close relationships with vendors throughout the city to provide a unique, personalized member experience
  • Monitor the fire alarm panel; respond to any emergency, such as providing access to emergency personnel - fire department, ambulance, etc.
  • Assist as needed with the scheduling of employees to match business demands
  • Leads the rooms team by example and communicates all employee issues directly to the Assistant Director of Operations - Front of House
  • Train new overnight employees and assist in continuous growth of the team in their performance
  • Cover any overnight shifts which become available due to call outs or scheduled time off for overnight associates
  • Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of services provided
  • Assume additional tasks assigned to you by your direct supervisor or any manager of The Quin that are reasonable requests

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Position Requirements

Who We Are Looking For

  • At least 5 years of progressive hospitality management experience
  • Security and/ or overnight experience preferred
  • First Aid & First Responder certification preferred
  • Service oriented with professional presentations skills
  • Proven ability as a leader in a team environment, embraces ownership, accountability, and responsibility for the team’s work
  • Knowledge and experience working with housekeeping or cleaning services
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented, excellent prioritization, time management, organizational and follow up skills
  • Basic understanding of Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and Employment Legislation
  • Open availability and flexibility to work according to the needs of the business
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills, additional languages are a plus
