The Ranch of Opportunity works with girls ages 13-17 that have experienced a high prevalence of traumatic events. The Ranch offers a peaceful and spacious environment, away from the pressure of an urban setting and the negative influence of peers. It will provide a healthy setting for adolescents to live, learn and develop. The Ranch is now hiring for Equine Coordinator.
The responsibility of the Equine Coordinator is to ensure that the horses and other animals at our facility are cared for. The Equine Coordinator will also facilitate group sessions with the girls.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Grooming of horses, cleaning of stalls, conditioning and turnout of horses.
- Barn organization and cleanliness.
- Feeding/watering of all animals in the barn to include horses, pigs and goats.
- Meets regularly with Equine Manager for direction and evaluation.
- Completes all necessary paper work as specified.
- Observes all job-related safety requirements.
- Daily interaction with the clients including running groups.
- Setting firm, clear boundaries between clients, animals and staff.
- Completing all daily documentation including but not limited to shift progress notes, group notes and shift reports.
- Unusual Incidents Report documentation in a timely manner.
- Communicating needs in an efficient timely manner to supervisor.
Qualifications:
· Experience working with children/adolescents is preferred.
· Demonstrated computer literacy as well as acceptable written/oral skills.
· Possess the ability to work in partnership with other team members.
· Prior experience with horses and other farm animals.
· High School Diploma with prior work experience required or Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
