We are an expanding team of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professionals. Our team supports multiple locations in the Greene, Binghamton/Kirkwood, and Cortland/Marathon surrounding areas. Safety is our priority, first, last, and always.
About the position:
We are looking for a Traveling Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to provide EHS support and ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all EHS regulations. This individual will travel daily (weekdays) to locations in Greene, Binghamton/Kirkwood and Cortland/Marathon, typically in a company provided vehicle. We anticipate travel up to 90% of the time. This is subject to change as our team and locations grow. Upon hire, the selected individual will train in Greene with our EHS team. You will:
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain company policies within the Environmental Management System Manual and Safety Manual. May interface with federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
- Investigate, measure, and evaluate environmental and safety conditions. Perform relevant research and make proposals for program enhancements.
- Design, develop and deliver effective and timely safety training programs.
- Oversee, develop, and perform EHS program audits.
- Coordinate scheduling of all required industrial hygiene testing with the EHS scheduler.
- Conduct Risk Assessments and coordinate required team support.
- Collaborate with Contractor Coordinators & Risk Management to ensure timely hazard assessments and orientation for all contractors.
- Timely reporting of investigations of all work-related incidents. Identify and take corrective action, coordinating with internal and external partners, as necessary.
- Communicate organization's emergency plans and coordinate required drills with other EHS team members.
- Participate in the overall design, development, and installation of facilities, equipment, and processes.
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain safety reports, metrics and weak point analysis for associates and leadership.
About you:
- 6 years of EHS experience.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment.
It would be great if you had:
- A Masters degree in EHS, health sciences, industrial hygiene, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Course Certificate, Certified Safety Professional, etc.
- Ability to work as a team, demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and dependability.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written & oral), listening and negotiation skills.
- Acute analytical, research, organization, problem solving and project management skills.
- Sense of urgency.
- High attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment self-directed.
About the total compensation package:
Salary - $78,800 - $ 101,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.
Relocation - This position may qualify for relocation.

- Six or more years of EHS experience is required.
- Experience working in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment is required.
