Job Description: REACH Bryan/College Station Executive Director
Organization Summary: The REACH Project (REACH) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that equips and empowers students and families to become citizen leaders who break the cycle of multigenerational poverty. Position Summary: The Executive Director is a full-time position who maintains oversight of the programs, operations and strategic plan of the Bryan/College Station-based, flagship chapter of the REACH Project. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's operations, including fundraising, program development, financial management, and staff supervision. Other key duties include strategic planning, management and stewardship of the REACH Board of Directors (BOD) and stakeholder outreach and engagement. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in nonprofit leadership and management, with a proven track record of organizational growth and meeting financial and strategic goals. This position requires a dynamic, mission-driven leader who is passionate about leading hands-on operations, fostering growth, and developing and managing REACH’s programs and team. This position reports to the REACH BOD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively manage and oversee the REACH Bryan/College Station chapter’s daily operations, programs, financials and fundraising.
- Lead development of REACH’s programmatic, operational/financial, and strategic plans in collaboration with the BOD, staff, and other leaders as appropriate.
- Apply innovative thinking and performance measurements to analyze and support strategic decision-making.
- Assure that the organization makes consistent and timely progress in achieving its mission, vision and impact.
- Drive local development and fundraising in collaboration with the Development Manager, leveraging the BOD as needed.
- Manage and motivate staff; oversee recruitment/hiring, separation, staff development, performance evaluation and management, and compensation and benefits
- Inspire a business-oriented, professional, collaborative, results-driven environment across the organization.
- Motivate, and mentor internal team leaders to strategically grow REACH’s programs and fundraising, and to effectively fulfill its mission
- Working with REACH’s Accounting Manager, execute hands-on budget development and oversight; routinely report performance and financial activities to the BOD.
- Provide thoughtful executive leadership that is inclusive and transparent, and that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the BOD.
- Execute all policies authorized by the BOD, and cultivate/steward BOD engagement.
- Provide BOD with ongoing reports and updates on staff as well as all current work, project timelines, and fiscal and organizational goals and progress.
- Communicate effectively with the BOD by providing members with all information necessary to continually function properly and make informed decisions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Effectively represent REACH to the local community; promote a positive organizational image to external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a successful nonprofit executive director, CEO, or similar leadership role for at least five years; preferably seven to 10 years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing programs, operations, staffing and financials.
- Demonstrated experience with running fundraising initiatives and meeting/exceeding fundraising goals.
- Strong knowledge of financials and including the ability to build financial forecasting documents for the BOD and other stakeholders.
- High-level strategy and development skills: ability to develop and share a vision that puts the organization’s mission into a long-term view.
- Familiarity with nonprofit laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, ensuring the organization adheres to federal, state, and local laws.
- Skilled at mentoring and coaching senior staff and other key team members, fostering a positive and collaborative organizational culture.
- Exceptional communication skills: ability to effectively communicate with and inspire a wide variety of stakeholders, including individuals from varied cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Proven ability to navigate through organizational challenges and adapt strategies to changing circumstances, ensuring continuity and resilience.
- Demonstrated experience in cultivating, stewarding and BOD relationships and maximizing BOD engagement.
- Experience in designing and implementing program evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness and impact of nonprofit organization services.
- Experience in coalition-building, including galvanizing academic, industry and business professionals, government officials, students, and community volunteers around shared goals.
- Expertise in forming strategic partnerships with other nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations to leverage resources and expand impact.
- Proven experience in identifying funding opportunities and cultivating relationships with foundations and other grant-making organizations.
- Knowledge of volunteer recruitment and how to garner community support to increase organizational capacity and success.
- Strong ability to research industry trends and community needs, utilizing data and insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Familiarity with nonprofit management software, CRM systems, and data management tools that support operational efficiency and program delivery.
- Goal-oriented visionary, with an eye for technological sophistication to support future organizational growth.
- Skilled in nonprofit representation in public forums/meetings, advocating for the organization’s mission and objectives.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 year, Full-time, Exempt, Health/Retirement Benefits Available
