Reports to: Pool Director with reporting responsibility to the General Manager (GM)
Job Summary: The Assistant Pool Director, in conjunction with and in the absence of the Pool Director, is responsible for overseeing all operations of the aquatics facility including supervising staff, maintaining a safe, enjoyable, and clean pool environment, and handling member concerns promptly and professionally. This position requires someone with strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to upholding safety standards. The pool facility is open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
MEMBER EXPERIENCE
- Will keep the member experience as the top priority
- Consults with Pool Director and General Manager to assure the highest level of member satisfaction
- Helps develop interesting ways of promoting pool activities
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- In the absence of the Pool Director, assumes all responsibilities of oversight at the pool facility includingsupervision of staff including Lifeguards, Swim Coaches, and Poolside Café and provides necessary feedback to the Pool Director regarding areas of concern or opportunity for training
- Collaborates with the Pool Director in the decision making process to ensure efficiency of operations and high quality member experience
- Assists in the maintenance of proper chemical balance in pools. Communicates regularly with Pool Director regarding necessary equipment maintenance
- Upholds the pool safety program developed and implemented by the Pool Director
- Manages pool facility, including restrooms and changing rooms, for cleanliness
- Maintains and keeps all necessary records concerning pool attendance, pool chemicals, accident reports, etc.
- Ensures members are properly registered and guests are properly charged
- Coordinate with Pool Director and Swim Coaches to ensure proper coverage for meets, practices, and lessons
- Assists in opening and closing of pools at the beginning and end of season
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Lifeguard Certified (CPR/AED & First Aid)
- Certifications: Pool Operations (CPO), or ability to complete CPO certification prior to opening (club reimbursed)
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI) is a plus
- Availability from Memorial Day – Labor Day with fringe responsibilities such as opening and closing facility are required outside of the summer months
- Experience in a similar role or a Head Lifeguard at a high volume pool
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as an ambassador of the Club
- Assist members with special requests
- Other duties as assigned
Job Type: Part-time
