Job Description
The Redlands Chamber of Commerce seeks a highly motivated , compassionate , and independent individual to support workforce development efforts and help special populations connect with employment opportunities. This position will work closely with the San Bernardino County Workforce Development Department (WDD) and the City of Redlands and serve as the primary contact for employer relationships, job seeker engagement, and workforce development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Act as the Chamber’s Workforce Development point of contact, coordinating with Workforce Development Team and engaging with County employers in supporting the homeless population of the City of Redlands.
- Conduct employer outreach to identify job opportunities and develop partnerships to place job seekers into employment.
- Partner with organizations like FSA, Steps4Life, Step Up, and similar organizations to address clients' employment needs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, industry representatives, and training agencies to facilitate job placements.
- Independently assist Redlands’ homeless population in securing employment by providing resume writing support, career guidance, skill-building opportunities, access to resources, and interview preparation.
- Promote training programs and encourage employer and educator participation; represent the Chamber at meetings.
- Organize and implement outreach efforts to connect job seekers with available opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between job seekers, program operators, and employers to facilitate job placements.
- Identify job openings and share them across multiple platforms.
- Conduct employer surveys to assess workforce needs and business trends.
- Assist WD in collecting and analyzing data on local labor market demands.
- Research potential job opportunities in key industries.
- Proactively assist during job fairs, recruitment events, and various networking events.
- Prepare reports and invoices related to workforce development activities.
