What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Runner position at The Reeds at Shelter Haven?
The Food Runner is a tipped position and works with the Expeditor or Sous Chef on the kitchen food line to ensure that all meals are correctly cooked and plated according the restaurants menus. From the kitchen the Food Runner takes the order to the correct table and guest seat. The Food Runners are expected to have a detailed knowledge of all restaurant tables and seat numbers. They are expected to field and assist with all guest requests.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to safe food handling and food storage.
- Have a detailed knowledge of how all menu items are prepared and plated.
- Memorize all restaurant tables and seat numbers.
- Prior to service, properly set up garnishes, breads, and butters in a manner that will not interrupt guest service and experience.
- Assist with fulfilling all restaurant guests requests.
- Foster teamwork in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
