Church Administrator
General Description: The Church Administrator ensures the minister and governing
board have adequate support to carry out the mission and work of the church.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher,
and email applications, while also showing strong written and verbal communication
skills. A background in or a familiarity with document and graphic design and/or social
media is sought.
The Church Administrator complements the minister and committees in their work,
therefore the candidate must be trustworthy and have the desire to grow with the job.
This person must not only be able to stay organized, but must be able to prioritize tasks
with wisdom, flexibility and independence.
Responsibilities include:
Communications
Preparation and production of weekly liturgy, paper and digital communications, and
various reports are key parts of this role. This consists of proactively seeking the
information, compiling the various parts, and producing an error-free product. The
administrative assistant will also edit/manage the church's website and social media
content, working closely with our minister and other stakeholders.
Administrative Support
Provide administrative support for the minister, committee chairs, and Consistory
(church governing board). The Church Administrator also supports various committees
and our Consistory through clear communication, timely responses to requests, and
providing helpful information and other assistance.
Relationship Manager
Serve as an intermediary between the church and the tenants that lease space in our
building, ensuring successful and harmonious partnerships, so our community may
thrive. The administrator will receive all scheduling requests and ensure there are no
overlapping conflicts. They will also receive building repair/maintenance requests and
resolve, delegate, or communicate as necessary from onset to completion.
Events
With our growing ministry and our tenant partnerships, it is imperative that scheduling
conflicts are avoided. This will include anticipating needs of various parties. Scheduling
will involve church-wide and community events, worship services, study groups,
weddings, funerals, and other requests.
Office Administration
Greeting people warmly, aiding others by answering questions, and directing vendors
and guests appropriately, creates a positive impression on those who enter our building.
The Church Administrator will procure, maintain, and keep in orderly state all office
supplies and equipment for the proper functions of the church. Along with maintaining
membership records and keeping current our communication distribution list, the
Church Administrator will also receive and distribute mail and prepare a yearly budget
for their department.

Position Hours and Pay
This is a 20 hour a week position. The work week is Monday through Friday. The
beginning pay is $18.00 - $20.00 an hour.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in responsible administrative capacity
