Avalon Assisted Living is a compassionate and dedicated assisted living community who's focused on providing a quality, long-term living environment for low- and middle-income seniors and disabled adults from the Hudson Valley. Our mission is to create a safe, nurturing environment where our residents can thrive with dignity, independence, and respect. We are seeking a competent professional to serve as the facility Administrator (ie Executive Director) to lead the facility’s operations.
Job Overview:
As the Administrator at Avalon Assisted Living, you will oversee the daily operations of the facility to ensure the highest level of care, safety, and compliance.
You will work closely with the staff, residents, families, and healthcare providers to maintain a positive, supportive environment for both residents and team members.
Your leadership will be essential in fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the assisted living facility, ensuring smooth and efficient services.
- Lead, supervise, and set the cultural tone for staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and families to develop and implement personalized care plans for residents, and to help each resident feel like they are in their home.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all residents and visitors.
- Monitor and manage the facility's budget, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Handle and resolve any resident or family concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and regulatory changes.
- Ensure that all staff members are trained in the facility's policies and procedures and are following best practices in caregiving.
- Provide regular reports to ownership and leadership on facility operations and resident care.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and maintain accurate records related to resident care and facility operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an assisted living or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of state and federal regulations regarding healthcare and assisted living is preferred
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing the best possible care for residents.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of budget management and financial planning.
