TRG is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to provide Program Support to the Military to Civilian Transition Office (MCTO).
The Military-Civilian Transition Office (MCTO) requires programmatic research, data analysis, assessments, and analytic support services to evaluate and enhance programs designed to assist Service members in transitioning to civilian life. These programs support Service members pursuing higher education, vocational training, employment in the public or private sector, or entrepreneurship, as well as Reserve Component (RC) members and their families adjusting to pre- and post-activation, mobilization, or deployment.
This position is currently hybrid. Work may be performed directly at the customer facility in Alexandria, VA (The Mark Center - https://markcenter.com/), at the TRG headquarters in McLean, VA, or remotely.
Security Clearance: Active Tier 3, Secret, or Top-Secret clearance
Travel: Minimal to moderate Travel - CONUS
Core hours for DC location are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Apply theoretical and academic frameworks to analyze programmatic data and generate insights that contribute to evidence-based decision-making.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative statistical analyses to assess program effectiveness, increase efficiency, and measure customer satisfaction by applying simple regression, correlation techniques, and inferential statistics.
- Utilize SAS for data querying, data management, and statistical analysis to evaluate program performance and trends.
- Apply data mining and data modeling to analyze structured and unstructured data.
- Interpret, visualize, and communicate findings through technical reports, presentations, and research-backed arguments that cite peer-reviewed studies and industry research.
- Develop dashboards and data visualizations in Qlik (preferred) to effectively present analytical findings and trends to stakeholders.
- Defend analytical outcomes by integrating relevant academic literature, theoretical constructs, and empirical studies into data interpretations.
- Develop statistical analysis plans and data management procedures using relational database principles, protocols, and methodologies.
- Integrate and analyze data from multiple sources, identifying data inconsistencies and resolving discrepancies.
- Conduct longitudinal studies, program evaluation, and impact assessments to determine trends, causation, and program effectiveness.
- Utilize I/O psychology principles to understand organizational behavior, personnel assessment, and program impact on workforce development (preferred).
- Required: A Master's degree
- Required: 10 years of work experience (However, a combination of education, research experience, and directly relevant expertise in data science, statistics, or psychology may be considered in lieu of the full 10 years).
- Required: Strong understanding of inferential statistics, regression analysis, and correlation techniques, with experience conducting theoretical, evidence-based research to support policy recommendations.
- Required: US Citizenship
- Preferred: Military Veterans that live locally.
- Preferred: Previous experience working within the Military to Civilian Transition Office (MCTO), with the military community, or workforce development.
