Postdoctoral Associate AI and MRI
Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computational Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field. Proficiency in machine learning libraries (e.g, scikit-learn, PyTorch, and transformers) and data analysis tools (e.g., pandas, NumPy, and CuPy). Hands-on experience in training large neural networks. Peer-reviewed publications in CVPR, ECCV, and AAAI.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Python, C/C , and Unix-like operating systems. Background in MRI physics is a plus.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the Department of Radiology. The incumbent will be working on Design reinforcement learning and optimal control theory, with a focus on their applications to next-generation MRI systems. Train deep neural networks: perform quantitative data analysis, collect and analyze data, including periodic/literature search and utilize specialized skills in related field to analyze the collected data. Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations. Assist PI with grant applications. Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies as needed
If the incumbent conducts research, they will ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. The postdoctoral fellow should possess good verbal and written communication skills in English, the ability to work productively and independently in a collaborative environment, strong problem-solving skills, and be willing to provide mentorship to junior members of the laboratory.
We are looking for a highly talented and motivated candidate interested in applying reinforcement learning to MRI systems. Successful candidate will join the AMRIS Lab.

- Other duties as assigned, which may include attending scientific conferences and meetings.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
