Research Technician I
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
High School diploma/GED (foreign equivalent or higher degree). Working knowledge of sectioning laboratory procedures. Familiarity with the operation of specialized apparatus or equipment relative to the field of Neurobiology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Biology or another related field. Experience with a variety of mouse colony maintenance, IHC, and/or confocal imaging/analysis.
Brief Description of Duties:
Working under general supervision, the incumbent will perform a variety of routine and/or semi-skilled tasks to support and directly assist a research project or program for Dr. Ge in the Department of Neurobiology & Behavior, in his laboratory. Therefore, the selected applicant will need to have a working knowledge of typical tests, procedures or techniques relative to the field as well as familiarity with the operation of specialized apparatus or equipment relative to the field.
The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Dr. Ge's lab information can be found here:

- Maintaining approximately 25 transgenic mouse colonies.
- Performing mouse perfusion, brain collection, sectioning, and IHC.
- Acquiring confocal images.
- Assisting with ordering supplies and equipment to maintain a well-stocked lab inventory.
- Participating in and presenting at lab meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
