The Royal Group (TRG) currently has a position open for an off-shift (2nd or 3rd shift) Maintenance Technician 2 in Marion, Ohio. The Maintenance Technician 2 sets up and operates a variety of tools, fits and assembles parts to fabricate or repair and maintain machines. Performs preventative maintenance on machines. This position requires basic electrical knowledge, advanced mechanical skills, light fabricating, and knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and how to repair.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine the need for adjustment or repair.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of metal stock required.
- Move existing equipment and set up new equipment when needed.
- Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defects or to remove defective parts.
- Replaces defective parts with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metal stock.
- Assembles and test machines to verify correction of malfunction.
- Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment.
- Monitor and audit equipment performance, perform calibrations and preventative maintenance.
- Install plumbing and fittings.
- Install electrical conduit and electrical conductors in accordance with local, state, and federal codes. NFPA.
- Install pneumatic and hydraulic hoses, fittings.
- Lifts heavy objects, up to 70 lbs. by hand.
- Must obtain a forklift license and ariel lift license.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED; plus one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform essential job functions will be required.
- Must either have current Arc Flash certification or be able to obtain training for certification
- Ability to add, to subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to use tape measure; and to use a computer.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to use tape measure.
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees of the organization.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand 100% of shift.
- Walk 90% of shift.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms during entire shift.
- Must twist and/or use upper body for 60% of shift.
- The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear.
- The employee is required to climb or balance 50% of their shift.
- The employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or lay down 50% of their shift.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 70lbs

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud and it is required that you wear hearing protection. Safety glasses within the plant are also required. EH Rated Safety Shoes/Safety Boots (must be leather) are required. Employees must watch where he/she walks to remain safe.
