OVERVIEW

Responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production at multiple facilities. Coordinate production schedules to insure efficient operations, cycle time and adequate delivery. Also responsible for order status to meet customer needs, review of deviations for material application, communicate with internal customers in case of delays in manufacturing and review of inventory reports including disposition of slow-moving inventory as required. Lead, facilitate or participate in projects that improve our operations either through teams or individual basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning and scheduling workflow using MRP and other planning tools for each department and operation to ensure proper supply is available to fulfill our customer’s demands.
  • Communicates information to internal customers.
  • Maintains work orders and purchase orders.
  • Prepares and maintains reports for backlog management.
  • Coordinates with other departments to expedite materials and information as needed.
  • Manages customer care requests to expedite or change our customer’s requirements.
  • Attend daily production, inventory and backlog meetings.
  • Manage issues with production material needs through return material authorizations to our offsite facilities and replacement work orders.
  • Reconcile the inventory that is affected by these issues.
  • Maintain and assign lot control number for ballistic production.
  • Interfaces with inventory control to create a plan that utilizes our on hand inventory.
  • Analyzes and interprets the construction of BOMs and specifications to determine the content and plan manageable work elements.
  • Manages work order changes and or cancellations.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-4 years of experience in a production environment.
  • 1-3 years of experience within an MRP environment.
  • 5 years experience as a production planner, preferred.
  • 5-10 years experience working in a production environment, preferred.
  • High School or GED equivalent.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • APICS Certification preferred.
  • Excellent Planning and organizing skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • A high level of attention to detail is a must.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of MRP and an ability to analyze transactions in an MRP system to determine material needs or problems.
  • Manages difficult or emotional situations, responds well to change, meets commitments, focuses on solving conflict, maintains confidentiality, listens to others, and controls emotions.
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, responds well to questions, participates in meetings, writes clearly and informatively, reads and comprehends written information.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, approaches others in a tactful manner, adapts to change in the work environment.
  • Is consistently at work and on time, ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent, follows instruction, responds to management direction and completes tasks on time.
  • Volunteer readily, seek increased responsibilities, asks for help when needed, displays original thinking and creativity and meets challenges with resourcefulness.
