DEPARTMENT MISSION
To support the full mission of The Salvation Army through coordinating the Intake Department. To provide each client with positive, professional, and quality service; always promoting respect dignity and fairness to each client, while making appropriate referrals which will assist clients in reaching their maximum level of independence.
PROGRAM / CLIENT ENVIRONMENT
The backgrounds of the clients served by The Harbor Light Program will manifest a variety of inappropriate behaviors. When this occurs, employees are to respond within the context of the treatment environment of the site. Employee conduct (actions, dress, etc.) and interactions (conversations, written communications, etc.) with clients must also be within the treatment environment of the facility.
OUTCOMES
The Support Programs Manager will provide effective practice of treatment and recovery support for substance use disorders through their knowledge of addiction, treatment, application to practice, and their understanding in the practice of recovery orientated systems of care (ROSC) related to the client, family, and community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Telephone calls and walk-ins and incoming clients are screened for appropriateness for further evaluation based on admission policies, programs and procedure, issues appointments for evaluations and possible treatment intake admission. Clients are evaluated and arrangements made for their medical screening and psychiatric evaluations.
- Responsible for overseeing the functions and operations of the Intake Department.
- Develops and monitors the implementation of the house rules, policies and procedures of the Intake Department and administrative policies and procedures of the Harbor Light Center are maintained with cooperative and responsive to the Executive Administrator
- Supervision is provided to the Intake Counselor and interns.
- Maintains confidential participant records and / or data in a secured manner. Records are kept and other related papers are sent to departments as required in a timely manner.
- Completes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in a timely manner.
- Maintains required training hours.
- Maintains open communication with Executive Administrator and other staff as it relates to the necessary flow of the job and program.
- Continually remains up to date on individual, group, and family recovery supports approaches.
- A good working relationship is maintained with referring agencies and V.A. hospitals; our services, policies, and procedures are explained in response to inquiries from the community or other social service agencies.
- Clients are admitted to Transitional Living Unit (TLU) who are at risk due to a physical or mental condition and approved by the Clinical Supervisor; IV drug users are admitted to TLU on a priority basis; those clients who are in transition from one level of care to another are admitted to TLU. Clients are transferred from TLU to other units when beds become available.
- Will be part of staff committees as appointed, including Management Team, and Review Board.
- All other duties as assigned.

This position reports to the Executive Administrator.
In contacts related to this position duties, this individual acts as a representative of the Army and its mission.
