Job Title: Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt
Reports to: Corps Officer
Schedule: M-F 8-5, evenings and weekends as needed
Rate of Pay: $17/hr-19/hr
Closing Date: 4/24/2025
Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Function
This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our ministry, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness by managing staff, coordinating activities, streamlining processes, maintaining quality control, and ensuring budget is followed; this position works closely with various departments to identify areas for improvement, implement changes, and achieve strategic goals while adhering to company policies and industry standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Staff Management
- Supervising and motivating employees
- Assigning Tasks to ensure tasks are done in a timely and effective manner
- Conducting performance evaluations
- Providing training to ensure team effectiveness
- Volunteer Management
- Recruit and maintain a schedule of volunteers for a variety of activities.
- Supervision of Community Volunteers assigned to the corps for miscellaneous duties.
- Provide training and ensure that volunteers are up to date on required paperwork.
- Corps Programs
- Assist in a variety of programs including worship services, recovery programs, youth programs.
- Connecting people receiving assistance with our Corps Programs.
- Assist with Seasonal Activities.
- Oversee fundraising and distribution for our Dress A Child Program
- Help with Red Kettle Program, Toy Distribution, and Back to School
- These duties will often require working hours outside of normal working hours and vacation hours are very limited in November and December.
- Quality Control
- Establishing and monitoring quality standards across operations to guarantee products and services meet expectations
Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications
- Education/Experience
- People with experience or education in social services will be preferred.
- Individuals with experience or education in food services will be preferred.
- Skills
- Software-related Skills: Microsoft Word and Excel required. Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.
- Language Skills: Must be able to understand, follow and give both written and oral instructions and be able to give presentations and be comfortable with public speaking. The employee must be able to use speech and hearing for ordinary and telephone conversation.
- Mathematical Skills: Must be able to perform simple calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and apply concepts such as ratios and percentages in practical situations.
- Performance Skills: Must be creative, self-motivated, organized, flexible and possess leadership skills.
- Qualifications
- This individual is critical to our operation and must be reliable and willing to perform a variety of tasks as needed.
- This position oversees a variety of people so they must be able to lead others to accomplish job duties.
- This individual must be able to work unsupervised and be self-motivated.
- Position requires driving
- A minimum age of 21 and possession of a valid in-state driver’s license is required.
- An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.
- Background Check
- Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.
Physical Requirements
