What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Kitchen Supervisor Rockford, IL ARC36 position at The Salvation Army USA Central Territory?
Job Objective: Oversee beneficiaries in the kitchen while maintaining inventory, menus, ordering and Canteen.
Essential Functions:
* Ensure kitchen beneficiaries receive training and complete the Kitchen Safety and Compliance sheets.
* Know and execute Health Department policies and prepare for regular inspections.
* Supervise and provide daily directives and regular feedback on work therapy performance to beneficiaries, including cooking and cleaning.
* Work with the Kitchen Supervisor to maintain the kitchen and canteen inventories, as well as communicating inventories to appropriate channels.
* Work with the Kitchen Supervisor to create menus utilizing Cycle Menu Management System, utilizing donated goods to maximize their use and quality.
* Check weekly menu, make changes as needed, and post in a timely manner.
* Create orders based on inventory that take into account current stock, cost, menu, and needs in a timely manner.
* Seek opportunities to obtain food donations, arrange pickup, and communicate received donations to appropriate parties.
* Track items sold in the canteen and marking the canteen cards for the appropriate amount.
* Communicate all important matters for other shift employees in the kitchen log.
