The Family Services Support Specialist will be the first point of contact for people coming to The Salvation Army food pantry. Answers phones, assists clients with getting food and/or personal items, and assists with incoming donations.

The Family Services Support Specialist will be the first point of contact for people coming to The Salvation Army food pantry. Answers phones, assists clients with getting food and/or personal items, and assists with incoming donations.
About the role:
- Greets clients and visitors to the food pantry, providing information, service delivery, and other relevant program information as needed, including other community resources to help meet immediate needs.
- Provides clients seeking emergency assistance (ie. motel voucher, gas, etc.) the appropriate form and informs case manager that client needs emergency assistance.
- Performs a range of duties to assist with food pantry. Assist clients needing food, personal items, pet food, etc. by completing TEFAP form and/or other required documentation and getting food order for clients.
- Keeps the bread, bakery and surplus items stocked and orderly.
- Answers incoming phone calls and responds and/or routes appropriately.
- Keep accurate documentation of phone calls, interviews, etc. of all client contacts.
- Assures that accurate and timely records, reports, and statistics are maintained for all social services programs which includes but is not limited to Service Point, SIMS and National Statistical System.
- Receives incoming donations and provides receipts and/or documents donation as instructed
- Assists with seasonal programs, e.g. Christmas Assistance.
- Promotes Salvation Army programs and encourages/invites clients to attend.
- Maintains confidential records compliant with TSA policies.
