Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for a wide range of general repairs and upkeep of all interior and exterior of buildings and grounds of TSA's Manoa campus and designated officer residences. The position will also assist in the setting up and taking down of furniture and equipment needed for the various programs and building uses.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 5years work experience in building maintenance, property upkeep, grounds maintenance or related field
- A combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted
Essential Functions:
- Exhibit journeyman competence in all technical skills toward positive outcomes in a timely manner
- Assist in project management duties including job site inspection for work compliance
- Perform as directed repairs, routine & preventive maintenance on buildings (e.g., walls, windows, doors, uneven floors, carpet, furnishings, roofing, carpentry, plumbing & electrical fixtures and devices, concrete cracks and spalling, and HVAC, etc.)
- Investigate and troubleshoot problems
- While conducting inspections, advise supervisor for any maintenance or malfunction issues to ensure proper working order. Attempt to address deficiencies before problems worsen
- Cleans and sweeps exterior areas including sidewalks, paved and landscaped areas
- Maintain the appearance and functionality of the facilities including occasional exterior wall and window cleaning
- Maintain grounds appearance including mowing, trimming shrubs, weed control, fertilizing and irrigating
- Keep Maintenance work shop clean and orderly, maintain tools and equipment in good working order
- Makes purchases of Maintenance tools and supplies as authorized by Supervisor
- Prepare the campus for special events and / or trainings by setup and take down furniture and equipment for a variety of internal and external events
- As directed, assist/work at other TSA worksites.
