3D Hardware Modeler and Technical R&D Specialist
Handbag design development studio seeks creative and technically knowledgeable individual for HW design development through CAD modeling of handbag components and various projects, as well as 3D printing, finishing and laser cutting techniques and innovations. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, maintain attention to detail and work well on a team.

Create and receive hardware specs Creation of hardware model 3D printing and treatment of hardware Creation of patterns and Jigs

Handbag design development studio seeks creative and technically knowledgeable individual for HW design development through CAD modeling of handbag components and various projects, as well as 3D printing, finishing and laser cutting techniques and innovations. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, maintain attention to detail and work well on a team.
Responsibilities
Must have Prototyping experience.
- Hardware Development
- Receive and scrub specs
- Request missing data and categorize sample by department
- Provide estimated completion dates
- Model pieces to spec using Rhino
- Model additional features for application and functional components
- Create meshes
- Place print supports
- Batch and print projects
- Wash and cure pieces
- Clip models supports
- Test functionality of pieces and make necessary edits after reviewing against product application
- Sand models and polish
- Paint models
- Apply hardware to panels/bags/SLGs
- Create and cut/print patterns and jigs
- Handbag and SLG Sampling
- Creation of patterns, jigs and molds for samples with a focus on laser-cut components and irregularly-curved laminations
- R&D
- Development of applications for laser cutting
- Scrubbing of design cards for laser-cut and 3D-printed components
- Development of standards and libraries for laser cutting and engraving
- Development of tools and methods using 3D-printed components
- Research into 3D-printing materials and technologies
- Shop
- Mechanic Duties - Assist with machine troubleshooting, tool adjustments, etc as needed
- Maintaining and organizing the tools in their proper locations
- Advising if any problems or replacements are needed for tools and machines
