The Sanctuary, one of Sacramento’s premier Dispensaries for Adult Use and Medical cannabis, is growing once again. We are looking for superstars to join our diverse, fun-loving team. Founded in January 2020, The Sanctuary specializes in cannabis retail sales both in store and delivery. The Sanctuary believes customer service, creative and educational collaborations and community support make a difference!

Even through our high volume hours, our staff is patient and always meets the needs of those who seek our assistance. The Sanctuary is team, detail, and goal oriented. All team members work together by utilizing staff and customer feedback to create a satisfactory cannabis buying experience. The Sanctuary Currently is looking to enhance the customer experience by adding an additional Bud Tender.


Position Summary

  • Provides a customer experience that is enthusiastic with informative engagement that provides in-depth product knowledge that includes features, benefits, and overall value to customers new to cannabis, who use recreational cannabis and who are medical cannabis consumers.


Position Responsibilities

  • Greet customers with professionalism, build rapport and provide a positive customer experience to every customer that visits the Sanctuary
  • Utilize selling techniques to identify the correct product or products that provide a tailored care plan or cannabis experience for every customer
  • Educate customers regarding strains, methods of consumption and the effects of cannabis
  • Cross-sell and encourage beneficial products, enhancing the customer experience
  • Upsells when appropriate, promoting current sales and promotions
  • Operate a cash register itemizing and totaling purchases by; accurately recording and bagging products being purchased, verifying prices are consistent with advertised price, and monitoring regulation limits
  • Accurately processes payments from customers, issue receipts and provide customers with cash change when necessary
  • Balances cash drawer by auditing at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is an adequate amount of cash change to service customer transactions timely and effectively
  • Handles customer complaints in a calm and professional manner, escalating customer issues to the Lead on duty
  • Maintains the professionally organized appearance of the sales floor through merchandising, putting stock and sales displays out in the morning and putting stock away in an organized manner at night
  • Collaborates as a team to achieve sales goals and encourages team members to provide excellent customer service
  • Assist with Express/Pickup orders when assigned
  • Stay current on the latest cannabis industry trends and product knowledge
  • Maintain a sense of urgency, high energy, positive attitude
  • Have a solution oriented approach to problem solving, a coachable mindset, and be eager to contribute wherever there is a need
  • Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, point of sale processing areas, break rooms, bathrooms, and the company conference room
  • Adhere to all state compliance and company policies
  • Additional tasks and duties as assigned


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or certifications in customer service is a plus)
  • Previous experience in customer service preferred.
  • Previous cannabis experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Familiarity with basic computer systems
  • Primarily stationed at the front desk or lobby area
  • May require standing for long periods
  • Interaction with customers in a fast-paced environment
