General Position Description :
The Community Support Department exists to engage the community in helping to meet needs for agency families. Participate in fundraising efforts and marketing, as needed. Attend and participate in speaking engagement events as needed. Create an atmosphere of enthusiasm and energetic commitment. Serve as a role model in carrying out the mission, following the principles and reflecting the values of The Sanctuary Foster Care Services.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test
- Must carry a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and have a good driving record
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience in hospitality, events, donor cultivation, or ministry
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Have the ability to work flexible hours and effectively manage multiple assignments
- Must be able and willing to comply with all state, federal and local regulations
General Duties:
Build and maintain volunteer teams and programs
- Identify and equip leaders
- Manage volunteer team rosters
- Lead volunteer orientation and training
- Share event photos and shout outs on branch Volunteer Facebook page
Establish community/volunteer-based foster family support
- Host monthly support events
- Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to specific teams
- Communicate with foster parents through family Facebook page
- Use Care Portal, agency resources, church partners, and community partners to meet foster family wrap around needs
- Assure host, food sponsor, staff support, and volunteer support are secured for each family event
Establish and build relationships with local church/community members
- Host or Schedule tables and talks at various church and community events
- Attend community networking and collaboration meetings
- Willing to work weekends and evenings as required for the rhythm of events, trainings, and meetings (with flex hours)
- Willing to keep up with care portal requests throughout evenings and weekends as needed
Skills and Responsibilities
- Assuring all T3C family needs are met through Community Support Program
- Foster parent, alternative care, and respite recruitment (through hosting monthly alternative care and family events in the community)
- Proficiency in / Ability to learn Salsa Engage, One Drive, Outlook, Teams, and Church Center.
- Maintain Community Support Outlook calendar
- Meet weekly with Community Support team
- Work with Parent Liaison for registration and advertising
- Recruit and follow up with sponsors, hosts, and volunteers.
- Create and share sponsor thank your social media posts
- Collaborate with the Cross Systems Coordinator to maximize support for families and children
Additional Requirements :
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with others and independently.
- Attend in-service workshops and training programs and participate in agency activities and development initiatives as assigned.
- Must become familiar with, understand and uphold all confidentiality and abuse reporting requirements as dictated by law.
- Have excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and overall management/administrative skills.
- Demonstrate ability to analyze and think critically.
- Must be flexible, have good judgment and be skilled in time management.
- Must comply with all agency standards.
- Must represent The Sanctuary Foster Care Services, clients and family members with the highest degree of integrity, professionalism and honesty at all times.
- Must be willing to carry out the mission and vision of The Sanctuary Foster Care Services, support the growth of the agency and carry out the established goals effectively.
- Willing to work weekends and evenings as required for the rhythm of events, trainings, and meetings.
- Willing to keep up with care portal requests throughout evenings and weekends as needed
- Responsible for networking and agency promotion
- Complete all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Schedule:
The Community Support Coordinator will work Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with occasional work required on the weekends or outside of these hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
