Role Objective:
As an Associate Attorney, you are an integral part of our legal team, providing exceptional legal representation and advocacy for clients in family law cases.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Handle a caseload of divorce, paternity, adoption and estate planning from inception to resolution.
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions and mediations.
- Negotiate settlement and communicate with opposing counsel and parties.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals and staff to ensure efficient case management.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients, explaining complex legal matters in simple terms.
- Draft legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and discovery according to judicial procedures.
- Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions and other legal sources.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communication to clients during their litigation process.
- Prepare, organize, store and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits and more.
- Develop and maintain records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
- Uphold ethical standards and professional conduct in all interactions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain updates on Monday board for assigned cases to ensure effective communication with clients and team members.
- Link all emails pertaining to client cases to their respective Mycase profiles.
- Schedule and prepare clients and documents for mediations.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the state of Oklahoma.
- Prior experience working in a law setting preferred.
- Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes and other related matters.
- Empathy and a client-focused mindset.
- Proficiency in multitasking, attention to detail and adherence to processes.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google, Slack and Zoom.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $68,474.00 - $72,758.00 per year
