Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Associate to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in various areas of Family Law; obviously, other areas of experience and expertise are a bonus. This role requires excellent legal research and drafting skills, as well as the ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients. You be responsible for providing comprehensive legal services to our diverse clientele.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws.
- Assist in litigating cases across various areas of law, but primarily Family Law.
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients while advocating for their best interests.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may affect clients’ cases, particularly in Tribal Law Regulations and Securities Law.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and prepare for trials or hearings.
- Maintain organized case files and documentation to ensure efficient workflow within the legal team.
Experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
- Admission to the state bar is preferred or pending admission is acceptable.
- Previous experience in a law firm setting or relevant internships focusing on Environmental Law, Personal Injury Law, Family Law, or Workers Compensation Law is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective client interaction and negotiation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple cases simultaneously.
