Job Summary

This is supervisory work directing the activities of a mobile team of General Cleaners. The Crew Leader is responsible for ensuring completion of all assignments, safe work practices of all team members, and ongoing communication to school administrators and Facilities Management. The Crew Leader maintains an inventory of supplies and performs preventive maintenance on assigned custodial equipment

PLEASE NOTE WORK HOURS ARE FROM 10PM-6 : 30AM - MONDAY-FRIDAY

Essential Functions

Coordinates with the Facilities Training Manager on the daily assigned work schedule.
Plans, organizes and directs a mobile crew of General Cleaners in the performance of housekeeping activities.
Supervises crew on specific custodial tasks in District schools throughout the city (the work location will change from day to day).
Maintains the cleaning equipment assigned to the team.
Secures building after occupancy.
Prepares time and attendance records and general reports on the completion of the assigned work and performance of staff.
Provides follow-up evaluations at locations where cleaning plans are in place.
Reports all health / life and safety related maintenance concerns, including leaking and nonoperational

fixtures, chipped paint, and falling plaster to their immediate supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of :

the practices, methods, techniques, tools, materials and equipment which are essential to housekeeping activities.

the current cleaning chemicals and each chemical's use.

the proper daily cleaning procedures as outlined in the "Facilities Management and Services General Cleaning Guidelines".

occupational hazards and safety precautions of housekeeping activities.

supervisory methods and techniques.

Demonstrated ability to :

provide leadership to a team of employees with a focus on the end goal.

oversee and coordinate projects.

foster a culture of personal accountability, service and support.

develop and maintain work schedules.

establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.

communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth school grade.

Five years of full-time, paid custodial housekeeping experience which shall have included three years of supervisory experience with responsibility for cleaning personnel engaged in providing housekeeping services in a large commercial or public building or group of smaller buildings.

Six-month probationary period that includes two ninety-day evaluations of attendance and work performance.

No disciplinary action in the last twenty-four months.

No attendance suspension in the last twenty-four months.

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.

Salary : $48,130
