Job Title:Assistant Souvenir Manager

Department:Merchandising

Reports To:Souvenir Manager

Status:Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Directly Supervises:Souvenir Retail Staff

 

Primary Objective:  Responsible for assisting the Souvenir Manager in increasing souvenir profitability through efficient and effective operation, management, and leadership of souvenir kiosks, stores, program carts, and assigned staff throughout T-Mobile Park during home games and events.  Provides additional support for off-site retail during non-game days and off-season.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide strong people leadership; assist in implementing strategies to effectively manage Team Members and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of department’s people resources.
  • Assist with recruitment, assessment and hiring of qualified candidates.
  • Assist Souvenir Manager in performing opening and closing procedures and oversee all game-day souvenir operations including cash management, customer service, sales, merchandising and guest interactions.  Report guest feedback to Souvenir Manager, Director of Stores and/or Merchandising team.
  • Help train, evaluate performance, and foster growth and development of Team Members, encouraging personal and professional development.
  • Lead with a positive attitude and demonstrate commitment to all Team Members. Assist Souvenir Manager in developing all Team Members and ensures the Mariners Way is being delivered to guests and to each other. 
  • Follow all organizational labor guidelines and human resources policies and regulations and monitor for compliance.
  • Monitor staffing levels and assist Souvenir Manager with schedule coordination and monitoring of day-to-day development of staff.
  • Receive and distribute souvenir store freight while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse.
  • Assist with product requests, transfers, and consolidations between stores.
  • Assist in maintaining overall visual presentation of all ballpark souvenir locations by merchandising new product, setting promotions/sales and refreshing visual displays.
  • Effectively operate relevant systems including but not limited to point-of-sale operating system and back-office retail merchandising system.
  • Support non-baseball related retail events including concerts and any other retail revenue generating event.
  • Use provided tools such as step stools and portable display racks to set up displays or arrange merchandise.  Operate a power cart to move freight.  Use provided tools such as a ladder or merchandise grabber to access out-of-reach items for guests.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.  Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other related field preferred.  Equivalent, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education if approved by management.
  • A minimum of 1 year merchandising experience in an apparel environment required.
  • Prior visual merchandising experience preferred.
     

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Point-of-Sale computer systems
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Possesses strong visual merchandising ability.

Physical Activities and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work games and assigned events including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to move up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • Frequent to constant walking and standing on concrete or carpeted floor.
  • Must have functional manual dexterity to operate computer system.
  • Must be able to use communication tools such as two-way radios.
  • Outdoor work environment, subject to fluctuation in temperatures, exposure to the sun and elements.
  • Must be able to walk up and down steep stairs and maintain balance while moving merchandise.

The anticipated pay range for this role $28 - $30 per hour. We also provide complimentary parking and paid public transportation.
