Job Title: Data Specialist
Pay Range - $42,900-$48750 Annual plus full benefit package
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience, and within budget constraints.
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, analytics or other application field of study is preferred OR equivalent work experience.
Experience: Two year's experience in related field.
Requirements: Adept at queries, data QA, report writing, and presenting findings. Two years of experience performing data analysis and report development. Specific knowledge of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and CMS rules is desirable. Ability to interview (gather requirements), document, present, and test reporting requirements. Knowledge of relational databases. Intermediate to Advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, etc.) including experience creating pivot tables, data table development, and data inquires. Superior project management, analytic skills, and ability to work within time frames and handle multiple duties. Database administration & management. Proficiency in PowerPoint and preparing presentations. Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze, troubleshoot and organize significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong problem solver with desire and ability to enhance and automate systems and reports. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language with great attention to detail. Strong customer service orientation and proven success in helping to build and maintain a team oriented, collaborative environment. General Job Description: Working with the Options Counseling and SHIP/MIPPA teams, the Data Analyst is responsible for responding to requests for complex data extraction and analytics, producing and interpreting data summaries and reports, participating on cross-functional project teams and other projects as assigned.
Physical Requirements: May need to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
Duties:
- Respond to report requests from leadership.
- Interpret data and analyze results to support and/or drive decision making.
- Identify issues and trends through data analysis.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
- Work with Options Counseling and SHIP/MIPPA teams to understand, set-up, and run standard reports to support individual program functions.
- Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Prepare presentations for leadership.
- Modifies, maintains, and enhances existing and scheduled reports.
- Responds to and provides fixes for report defects/deficiencies.
- Responds to requests for ad hoc data sets.
- Develops appropriate graphical reports, including spreadsheets, charts, graphs and pixel-perfect reports to support internal and external customers.
- Interact with IT team to ensure all team members have proper equipment, software, and IT permissions.
- Conducts thorough follow-up and effective resolution and communication in response to other departmental inquiries and requests.
- Works closely and collaboratively with other departments.
- Effective understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Performs other duties, assignments and responsibilities as assigned or required.
