What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Empowerment and Leadership (YEL) Mentor - AmeriCorps Position position at The Service Collaborative?
As the Youth Empowerment Leadership (YEL) Mentor for the Family Help Center's Youth Empowerment & leadership program, you will support the growth of individuals 13 and up, whose goal is to inspire and empower themselves and their community.
The YEL Mentor works with the Youth Empowerment and Leadership team to provide programming designed to promote team building and leadership skills by empowering youth to engage with their peers. This person should have experience or a desire to work with at-risk youth who are involved or have had involvement with the Erie County Children's System of Care. The YEL mentor must be able to engage with teens of varying ages who have diverse experiences and needs. The ideal candidate will plan and facilitate youth meetings. This person must coordinate and drive youth to attend meetings and events.
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent with one year experience working with youth. Associates preferred.
*Must possess NYS driver’s license, own car, and acceptable driving record.*
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $800.00 - $1,600.00 per month
