We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quilting Operations Coordinator to oversee quilting operations, provide training, manage scheduling, and maintain quilting equipment. This role is essential in supporting our quilting services, facilitating rentals, and ensuring high-quality quilting projects for both community and charity initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about quilting and textile arts.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Support
- Train new quilting machine operators and renters on safe and effective use of equipment.
- Assist renters with troubleshooting and operation of quilting machines.
- Coordinate with volunteers to support non-machine quilting tasks, such as measuring, pressing, marking centers, and cutting materials.
Scheduling & Operations Management
- Manage the scheduling of quilting machine rentals to maximize availability, with a goal of offering rentals daily and in the evenings.
- Oversee intake and completion of edge-to-edge quilting services.
- Identify opportunities to grow and enhance TSL’s quilting services, including expanding rental offerings, increasing customer engagement, and exploring new service models.
- Ensure machine maintenance and cleaning schedules are adhered to by all operators.
Equipment & Supply Management
- Coordinate with Gammill for the necessary maintenance and upgrades.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of quilting supplies, including batting, thread, needles, and other essentials.
- Identify and manage relationships with external consultants for training, maintenance, and repairs.
Community & Program Coordination
- Manage charity quilt donation relationships and coordinate quilt intake and distribution.
- Lead preparations for quilt auctions, including organizing and finishing donated quilts.
- Plan and oversee TSL’s vendor booth at the 2025 Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival (KCRQF), including marketing efforts.
Working Conditions
- Part-time position with flexible hours.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for events and volunteer activities.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
