Summary:
Project Supervision of Crafts, Subcontractors, Field Staff or Home Office Staff and overall Budget Performance as well as management of the overall site. Perform other duties as required.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily construction activities at the work site, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials, and progress of the project.
- Works with contractors to complete projects within the given budget and timeframe.
- Understand the scope of work and generate any necessary change orders.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks on schedule and on budget.
- May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
- Supervises the daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff in an assigned area.
- Work with the project team to resolve problems.
- Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion, and coordinate work activities with other supervisors.
- Has formal supervisory responsibilities
- Has in-depth knowledge of work processes and tools within own area.
- Uses operational and supervisory expertise to solve problems within own area.
- Interprets customer needs and assesses requirements.
- Sets day-to-day direction for employees to support business objectives.
- Works within budget to meet operational objectives set by a manager.
- Resolve routine problems using defined processes and own experience.
- Coordinates resources to meet short-term objectives.
- Sets priorities for employees to meet deadlines.
- Explains difficult issues and obtains agreement as needed.
Education and Experience:
- 10 years’ experience relating to specified discipline.
- 3 years’ experience in supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions.
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
