Overview
The Sierra Medical Partnership is seeking an experienced, organized, and dedicated Medical Administrative Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in providing excellent patient care and administrative support within our General Surgery admin office. The ideal candidate will have experience on phones with patients and will be responsible for patient interactions via phone, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records.
This position is on site and interfaces with admin team members. Teamwork and positive interaction with co-workers in this position is a must. This position will involve spending a great portion of the day on the phones interacting with patients and referring provider offices. Efficient computer skills, insurance knowledge, and scheduling protocols will be utilized daily.

Responsibilities
- Take appointment calls of patients that are already established – Follow-Ups, Post-Ops, Re-Checks, Patient Requests, Surgeon Requests, etc., and schedule these appointments
- Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries efficiently
- Maintain patient records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Keep track of each clinic day schedules to assure that gaps are filled, schedule is manageable for clinic staff, and call patients to reschedule appointments when surgeons are not available for clinic
- Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Retrieve insurance authorizations for upcoming office procedures, consults, and/or follow up visits
- Fulfill medical records requests via call and patient cases, adhering to medical records protocols and payment protocols
- Active participation in communication with surgeons, clinic staff, admin staff, clinical calls staff, and management
- Process incoming mail
Skills
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or medical admin office setting required
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding is a plus
- Strong clerical skills with attention to detail in documentation review
- Proficiency in computer/computer applications and typing
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Knowledge of insurances is a plus
