ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides swimming and water safety instruction to students of all ages and abilities in group and private settings
- Teach group and private swim lessons using the YMCA curriculum.
- Keep swimmers safe and engaged while building positive relationships.
- Monitor all activity in and around the pool to ensure a secure environment.
- Communicate with families about student progress and goals.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold program standards.
- Be an enthusiastic, water-safe role model!
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Provides swimming and water safety instruction to students of all ages and abilities in group and private settings
- Minimum age 16
- Strong swimming skills—Stage 5 level in at least 4 core strokes.
- CPR/AED, First Aid & Bloodborne Pathogens certification (or willingness to obtain).
- YMCA Swim Instructor certification (or willingness to obtain—we’ll help!).
- Positive energy, reliability, and a commitment to youth development.
- Bilingual? Earn an extra $0.50/hour!

- YMCA Swim Instructor certification (or willingness to obtain—we’ll help!).
- Up to 25 hours/week including evenings & weekends.
- Warm pool temps (80–90°F) and a fun, fast-paced environment.
- Be ready to stay alert, stay active, and respond to emergencies.
