Job Summary : The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of patient billing and insurance claims processing within the dental practice. This role ensures accurate financial operations, timely reimbursements, and a seamless billing experience for patients. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience in dental billing or healthcare finance. Key Responsibilities : Prepare, submit, and track insurance claims accurately and promptly. Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims to ensure timely resolution. Communicate with insurance companies to address discrepancies or errors. Generate and send patient statements for outstanding balances. Process patient payments and maintain accurate records. Address patient billing inquiries and provide clear explanations of charges and account balances. Set up and manage payment plans as needed. Reconcile daily financial transactions, including payments, refunds, and adjustments. Maintain accurate and organized financial records in compliance with office protocols. Assist in month-end and year-end financial reporting. Ensure billing practices comply with HIPAA regulations and other relevant standards. Stay updated on changes to dental insurance policies and coding requirements. Maintain and update patient billing and insurance documentation in the practice management software. Work closely with front office staff to ensure accurate patient information is collected. Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify coding and treatment details when needed. Provide training and support to team members on billing processes and software. RCM Specialist Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred). Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental billing or a related healthcare billing role. Proficiency in dental Dentrix practice management software Knowledge of CDT codes, insurance billing practices, and dental terminology. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
