Overview
The Dental Insurance / Financial Coordinator position requires a highly motivated, solution-oriented person who can multitask various objectives simultaneously. A deep working knowledge and understanding of dentistry : treatment planning, sedation cases, and all specialties of dentistry, coupled with the ability to effectively communicate how one relates to the other is a must.
Schedule : Full-time, alternating Saturdays
Duties & Responsibilities
- Advanced understanding of insurance administration.
- Experience with dental accounts receivable and knowledge of balances in account ledger.
- Preparing invoices and handling account inquiries on designated billing phone line.
- Maintaining collections schedule (30-60-90) and submitting required documentation to collections agency. Experience with third-party financing companies, processes, and applications.
- Coordinating the schedules of multiple providers in order to effectively / efficiently service to all anesthesia / sedation patients.
- Consulting with patients' physicians in order to optimize patients for their upcoming surgeries to support positive long-term prognoses.
- Managing patient accounts for all anesthesia / sedation patients.
- Submission of medical coverage for all eligible anesthesia cases, as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed.
- Must have Dental Office experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to connect with patients in a kind and professional manner.
- Ability to multitask to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment, that requires analyzing, communicating, and maintaining large amounts of data.
- Knowledge of dental procedures and codes, terminology, and the use of dental operating software, as well as financial details of said procedures.
- Knowledge, understanding, and adherence to PHI and HIPAA laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and dental software.
- Exceptional attention-to-detail and organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- 3 -5 years of experience in a fast-paced dental office presenting intricate cases and the corresponding financial nee ds required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Eaglesoft practice management software preferred.
- Customer Service experience.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of periods of standing and bending.
