Our company is a leading consumer products company in the homewares industry. We specialize in importing and selling high-quality products to large national retailers, ensuring excellence in both design and functionality. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Controller to help keep our finances on track and support the company’s bottom-line success.
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Controller with a strong background in product-based businesses, importing, and wholesale distribution. This role will be responsible for bookkeeping, cash planning, and monthly P&L reporting while ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Oversee and manage all aspects of bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations.
✅ Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts to ensure financial stability.
✅ Prepare and analyze monthly P&L statements and financial reports to track business performance.
✅ Handle costing, inventory valuation, and financial controls related to importing and product sales.
✅ Ensure compliance with tax regulations, accounting policies, and financial best practices.
✅ Work closely with retail partners, vendors, and suppliers on financial transactions and payments.
✅ Implement internal controls and process improvements to optimize operations.
✅ Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations.
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Experience in a product-based business (consumer goods, homewares, importing, or retail distribution preferred).
✔ 5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial management.
✔ Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.
✔ Expertise in cash flow management, P&L analysis, and financial planning.
✔ Familiarity with importing, inventory management, and working with major retailers.
✔ Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
✔ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support leadership with financial decision-making.
✔ Hands-on mentality—willing to roll up your sleeves and work hard to ensure financial success.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
