Position Summary: The Hands-On Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our manufacturing/distribution operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment, with a keen eye for detail and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting:Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.Cost Accounting:Develop and maintain accurate cost accounting systems to track and analyze COGS.Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into production costs, labor costs, and overhead expenses.Implement cost control measures to improve profitability.Inventory Valuation:Oversee inventory accounting and ensure accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures.Budgeting and Forecasting:Lead the annual budgeting process and develop financial forecasts.Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.Assist in strategic planning and financial decision-making.Internal Controls:Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.Team Leadership:Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Collaboration:Work closely with production, procurement, and sales teams to understand operational challenges and provide financial insights.Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
