JOB TITLE: WIC Nutrition Assistant
REPORTS TO: WIC Senior Nutritionist
STATUS: Full Time, Non-exempt 40 hours per week
SALARY: $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
JOB SUMMARY:
The WIC Nutritionist Assistant screens WIC applicants for program eligibility, Also inputs financial, categorical and residential data into statewide computer system. Assists Nutritionist with WIC certification and nutrition education appointments. Performs anthropometric measurements and hematology screening on WIC participants. Travel throughout five county area required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with providing customer service and computer data entry
- Fluent in English and Spanish preferred
- Demonstration of excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Understanding of cultural sensitivity and demonstration to work with diverse groups
- Skillsets with working in a fast paced clinic environment
- Open to working several evenings per month.
- Fulfill expectations of advancing professional knowledge and skillsets by attending relevant seminars and/or trainings.
- Exemplify a demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work and delivering services with a trauma-informed and equitable lens
- Valid NYS Driver License

The Candidate must possess a valid NYS driver’s license with a good driving record and carry agency required levels of automobile liability insurance.
