Position Overview:
The Southeastern Tennessee Human Resource Agency’s (SETHRA) Human Resource Assistant of is a very responsible position requiring a variety of professional skills including discretion, communication skills, extreme attention to detail, public speaking skills and administrative skills. The HR Assistant works closely with the HR Director assisting in problem solving HR issues, data entry into the agencies HRIS system, assisting in the recruiting process, preparing & coordinating new hire orientation schedules pre-employment testing and interviews of potential candidates. The Human Resource Assistant will also serve as the agency’s benefits coordinator, insuring employees have the most up-to-date information regarding their benefits. The HR Assistant will be expected to assist the HR Department in a variety of ways to ensure the department runs smoothly and efficiently, including problem solving HR issues, data entry into the agencies HRIS system This position plays an integral role in the effective management of the HR department. SETHRA is looking for an individual with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, excellent data entry skills, and organizational skills in maintaining, executing, and prioritizing all job duties with the highest regards to confidentiality. The HR Assistant should recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving, and be a forward thinker, planning and working ahead as time permits.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field (required)
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (preferred)
· 1 year experience as an HR assistant or related (required)
· Exposure to labor law and HR functions (preferred)
· Experience with Microsoft 365 and Excel Spreadsheets (required)

Work Environment
The position operates in a professional office environment. Prolonged periods working on a computer and sitting or standing at a desk (required).
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position at 37.5 hours per week. Days of work are Monday through Friday.
