Our Summer Nature Camp blends exposure to horses, nature exploration, environmental education, and outdoor adventure to create an unforgettable summer for campers ages 4 to 7yrs old.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and organized Summer Nature Camp Director to lead our seasonal camp program. The director will be responsible for the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of campers through hands on supervision, facilitation of group activities, and acting as a positive role model to junior counselors. The ideal candidate has experience working in a camp setting, group management and outdoor education.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement a structured summer camp program integrating nature education and outdoor adventures. Assist in training of camp counselors. Supervise camp counselors and support staff. Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers and staff, following established safety protocols and emergency procedures. Coordinate daily camp schedules. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates and addressing any concerns. Manage camp supplies and resources. Ensure that camp spaces remain clean and tidy. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging camp environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education, outdoor recreation management, or a related field preferred but not required. Previous experience as a camp director, program coordinator, head counselor or similar leadership role in a camp or outdoor education setting. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lead physical activities. First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before camp start).
