Description
The Sparrow’s Nest seeks an organized and creative Event Coordinator to plan and execute events, manage event volunteers, and oversee the organization’s social media and website presence. This role involves developing event timelines, budgets, and promotional strategies, while also handling logistics and serving as the primary contact during events. The coordinator will recruit, train, and manage volunteers, fostering meaningful engagement. They will create and schedule engaging content across social media platforms, maintain the website with accurate and appealing updates, and build community partnerships to support events and initiatives. Additionally, the role includes tracking event metrics, providing post-event evaluations, and ensuring alignment with The Sparrow’s Nest’s mission. Ideal candidates have experience in event planning, volunteer management, and social media, with strong organizational and communication skills.
Qualifications
- 2 years coordinating major events

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations in a professional manner
- Ability to maintain professional and personal boundaries
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well-organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities
- Outstanding vendor management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or public relations is preferred
- Computer literacy
- Reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Identify the organization's requirements and expectations for each event.
- Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order.
- Manage all event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes.
- Maintain event budgets.
- Book venues, entertainers, photographers, and schedule speakers.
- Conduct final inspections on the day of the event to ensure everything adheres to the organization's standards.
- Assess an event’s overall success and submit findings.
- Coordinating volunteers in conducting Sparrow’s Nest operations.
- Assist in developing marketing materials and updating our social media pages.
- Report directly to the Director/Director’s Assistant and complete any tasks assigned.
- There will be no personal dealings with volunteers, community service workers, or clients
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 34 per week
