Position Overview:
Spring Hill seeks a passionate, caring, and reliable long-term maternity substitute teacher to join our team in a Montessori Toddler classroom from March through the end of the school year, with the possibility of summer work and subsequent work in the 2025-26 academic school year.
This opportunity is at Spring Hill School’s Montessori preschool campus which serves children ages 18 months to 6 years old. Our preschool is a warm, secure environment that gives young children the freedom and confidence to try new things and explore the world. A beautifully prepared Montessori environment, nurturing teachers, and inviting sensory materials draw children into creative discovery.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during the school day.
- Provide consistency in the classroom by following established routines and the flow of the day.
- Prepare a beautiful, orderly prepared environment that fosters independence and exploration.
- Partner with parents to support student’s academic and social-emotional development through open and regular communication.
- Maintain a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that reflects the school’s values and mission.
- Ensure all school policies and licensing regulations are met and maintained in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Toddler Montessori Certification (Preferred)
- 12 ECE units. (Required)
- Live Scan fingerprints with DOJ background clearance. (Required)
- Medical clearance, including negative TB test, current MMR, Polio, and Dtap vaccinations. (Required)
- Experience working with preschool children in a school setting. (Required)
- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students and parents quickly. (Required)
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies. (Required)
- Dependability and promptness. (Required)
Hours: Monday-Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm
Compensation: $30–33
