POSITION: Advocate Support (PT) - Sat-Tues - 7pm-11pm
REPORTS TO: Residential Shelter Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION: Guest advocate support personnel serve to assist shelter staff with crisis calls, monitoring of entry and exit of guest and visitor traffic, and day to day administrative duties specific to guest advocacy and services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer calls on our crisis line and business lines
- Gather information via telephone or face-to-face interviews from prospective guests
- Monitor entry and exit of guest and visitor traffic
- Assist in daily charting on guests in specified files
- Assist advocates in responding to guest needs
- Welcome and receive in-kind donors and donations
- Assist with transport of guests as needed
- Assist with meal preparation as needed
- Be available for emergencies and respond accordingly
- Assist with children’s activities as needed
- Attend training as needed to meet domestic violence, sexual assault, and human sex trafficking standards
- Available to work agreed-upon hours each week – occasional nights and weekends may be required
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED
- Able to successfully handle multiple demands and perform effectively despite changing priorities
- Willing and able to develop relationships with guests and their children within professional boundaries
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality
- Willing and able to work both independently and as a team member
- Must be able to sign The Spring’s Statement of Faith
- Must have valid Oklahoma driver’s license
