Job Summary: The position of Retail Associate is responsible for greeting all customers in a friendly and courteous way, selling merchandise, maintaining a neat and tidy store while also assisting customers with all questions and requests. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Energetically welcome customers 

• Operate the register and POS system 

• Upsell merchandise at appropriate times  

• Maintain a clean and organized store  

• Perform inventory 

• Answer phone calls, emails, and additional inquiries  

• Maintain knowledge of store merchandise 

• Serves customers by assisting in selecting products 

• Drives sales through engagement of customers and suggestive selling 

• Directs customers by escorting them to their preferred products location 

• Manage financial transactions 

• Alerts management of potential security issues 

• Documents sales by creating or updating customer profile records 

• Keep clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest  

• All other duties as assigned  

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

• Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs 

• Previous in-person customer experience preferred 

• Previous retail experience preferred 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

• Detail oriented and thorough  

• Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests 

• Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards 

• Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way 

• Ability to perform cash transactions correctly 

• Knowledge of Microsoft office operations 

• Ability to remain calm in uncomfortable conflicts 

• Ability to work as part of a team 

• Basic knowledge of retail operations 

• Task-oriented  

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• Ability to maintain a positive attitude focused on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment
