We are seeking a Speech Therapist for Outpatient Pediatrics and Acute Care to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients referred for Speech/Language Pathology services by a referring physician.
- Develop plans of care for patients after evaluation.
- Discuss treatment plans with patients and/or their guardians.
- Assist patients in achieving maximum performance and function in society while adapting to their disability.
- Participate in performance improvement activities within the department.
- Maintain personal competency and licensure.
- Provide information related to patient care and service needs.
- Work closely with the front desk for scheduling patient visits and ensuring insurance authorization.
- Maintain timely documentation and charges per department guidelines.
- Participate in infection control, safety, computer optimization, and educational programs.
Requirements
- Knowledge of speech pathology principles and practice.
- Familiarity with infection control, sterile technique, and its impact on rehabilitative medicine practice and equipment.
- 1-5 years of experience working as a speech/language pathologist, preferably in a rehabilitation setting.
Education
- Holds a master's degree from an approved college or school of speech/language pathology.
Licensure and Certification
- Eligible for a certificate of clinical competence.
- Current State Licensure in speech pathology (as a Speech Pathologist) required.
- Current BLS certification.
