They utilize a range of novel technologies and pharmaceutical manufacturing operations to overcome drug development challenges for both small and large molecules, including complex granulations, spray-dried dispersions, hot melt extrudates, IR and MR tablet technologies, multiarticulate, and engineered particles inhalation.
The Head of Commercial Operations is responsible for the development, implementation, and daily management of commercial manufacturing operations to meet the future needs of commercial business. Ideal candidates will have direct experience with cGMP manufacturing capabilities, which include spray drying, hot melt extrusion, blending, milling, granulation, encapsulation, tablet compression, tablet coating, and clinical packaging and labeling. The selected candidate will be part of the team that develops value proposition, offerings, and pricing strategy, while strengthening client relationships. This role will work with the sales and Business Development team in the acquisition of new and existing business. This position will also be responsible for leading and managing the commercial operations team inclusive of technical transfers, project proposals, commercial analysis, and commercial development. Ideal candidates will demonstrate direct experience with commercial facility operations, successful leadership roles, and business acumen to advance the mission and values of the company.

- Develops personnel to ensure functionality across teams, high performance, and talent retention
- Integrates with the senior management team to develop personnel and organizational effectiveness
Duties and Responsibilities
Directs daily operations at Commercial Manufacturing FacilityEnsures client projects are delivered on-time and executed to full compliance with global regulatory requirements and client agreementsManages the introduction of new commercial projectsActs as commercial representative for key customer relationshipsLeads execution of commercial and business strategy in development and manufacturingProvides commercial input for facility and capital improvements, including the construction of a greenfield commercial facilityEnsures that the health, safety, and environmental impact policies of the sites are being successfully implementedProvides strategic input to support business model and company growthSupports customer site visits to facilitate onboarding of new customers and to maintain strong customer relationshipsDevelops and implements metrics for consistent improvement of Commercial Operations and complianceOptimizes processes to reduce manufacturing costs and maximize cGMP production throughputRepresents commercial team during budget planning meetingsResponsible for management of pipeline / portfolio and delivery of productsManges the manufacturing operations technical team and production teamsMeets frequently with quality, project management, and executive management teamsPerforms other related duties as assignedRequired Skills and Abilities

BS in Life Science or Engineering discipline required, MS or Ph.D. preferredMinimum of 10 years of experience in CDMO / CMO Commercial OperationsPreference given to those with direct experience in development and manufacturing of spray drying technologiesExtensive knowledge of multiple technologies (Drug Substance, Drug Product, Development, and manufacturing service lines)Physical Requirements
