The Staley, South Loop's neighborhood upscale sports bar from NFL legend Israel Idonije and culinary wizard Chef Stephen Gillanders, is looking for a Chef de Cuisine to join its growing team!

Position Overview:
As the Chef de Cuisine, you will be the heart of our kitchen, responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of all dishes. You will lead and inspire a team of cooks, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality, consistency, and taste. You will play a crucial role in kitchen operations, menu development, and staff training, while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the culinary team in the creation, preparation, and presentation of dishes.
- Work with the head Culinary Team to develop and update menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, current trends, and the restaurant's vision.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
- Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and control food and labor costs.
- Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Executive Chef, or similar role.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen operations.
- Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for developing new and exciting dishes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Proficient in financial management, P&L statements, and labor models.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy.
- Physically capable of standing, lifting, and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
