Job Summary:

Reporting to the 2nd Vice President Client Management, this role involves regionally managing all segments of Employee Benefits Client Management customer accounts to achieve profit, growth, and retention objectives through effective customer relationship management. The position supports the development and application of capabilities and services designed to attract and retain customers in all market segments. It includes direct management of National Account Consultants and Service Managers within an assigned region, ensuring alignment with corporate manager expectations, values, and vision.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead National Accounts Consultants and EB Service Managers to ensure a proactive, strategic and consultative focus on revenue growth and retention of profitable business throughout the customer life cycle. Provide strategic leadership and guidance to manage customers towards successful renewals, supported by consistently exceeding service delivery expectations.
  • Support consultants’ and managers’ advocacy of the customer within The Standard with all key internal partners, including EB Operations, Sales RVPs, Sales Managers, and Sales Representatives.
  • Invest in and develop human capital, creating a performance-based, incentivized workforce that supports the company’s performance framework objectives. Contribute to the development of strategy and policy for the Employee Benefits Sales and Client Management department, reflecting corporate philosophies and stature.
  • Lead and/or facilitate team members in assessing customer needs to identify and implement customer-focused improvements in workflow, systems, and procedures, coordinating activities with other departments and division stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the company's focus of maintaining an inclusive, supportive work environment for all, based on mutual respect, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and the recognition that diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences lead to innovation and success.
  • Proactively participate in market development activities to increase awareness of company products, services, and capabilities to targeted audiences, including producers, existing customers, and potential customers. Monitor and communicate industry trends, product and service innovations, and customer strategic needs to appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Achieve annual increases in Pre-Tax Operating income, premium growth, and meet ROE targets, effectively managing local office budgets including travel and Client Management support costs.
  • The annual salary for this position is targeted between $150,000 and $165,000 along with our Sales Compensation Bonus Plan for a lucrative total compensation package.

Job Specifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the Group Insurance or financial services industries, with at least five years in management roles. This includes leading leaders, leading teams, managing large and complex customer relationships, and collaborating across various departments to achieve business results. A strong background in Standard Insurance Company products and services is preferred, or an equivalent combination of industry knowledge and relevant experience.

Travel requirements: Estimated 30% travel.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
  • Performance guarantees may be applied to roles with highly incentivized compensation plans for a specified period of time, to support a new hire’s transition into the sales incentive plan.

Salary Range:

$127,500.00 - $203,500.00
