WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Comply with safety requirements and actively promote a positive safety culture.
- Conduct New employee orientations as required for the project.
- Create job safety plans for projects.
- Communicate and provide support to other stakeholders on job sites, including customers, general contractors, other contractors, union representatives, and regulatory personnel.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all inspections and incident investigations.
- Conduct safety audits on employee work behaviors, housekeeping, and the condition of equipment and materials.
- Maintain a summary of all audits, inspections, and other action items, and ensure timely and sustainable completion.
- Ensure compliance with all State Group, governmental, and legal requirements (including OSHA, EPA, COR, and ISO).
- Communicate any potential or non-compliant issues to the Safety Manager and operations leadership in a timely manner.
- Stop unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately, and promptly counsel individuals or tag out equipment to eliminate unsafe conditions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM
- 5 years of construction safety experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in safety or a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
- CHST and OSHA 500 certifications are preferred.
- This position must demonstrate professionalism and conduct that sets an example of the core values of the organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety policies and regulations.
- Ability to train efficiently and communicate effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities, strong time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to professionally handle a fast-paced change-oriented environment.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, and Word and EHS Platform navigation.
- Preferred experience in construction or union environments with a fluctuating volume of projects and activity.
