Duties and Responsabilities
This Accounting Services Administrator - SES position is within the Accounts Receivable section, in the Revenue Unit of the Bureau of Accounting with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. The incumbent in this position is authorized to manage the Accounts Receivable System and the operation responsible for handling a billion dollars in revenue received in this department from Individual customers received through the mailroom, from Tax Collectors received by Electronic Payment System (EPS), which is a FLHSMV website to the Tax Collector/Driver License ad OMV offices that will allow a secure capture and processing of payments and payment related information. The incumbent in this position is also authorized to manage and control the Cash Receipting System (CRS) which allows all monies received in the department to be recorded and processed to ensure a safety control of all monies received. The incumbent in this position manages and controls the field change distributed to all Driver License and OMV offices in the field and in-house. The incumbent in this position is authorized to approve purchase or payment of Invoices in accordance with Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles policies relating to procurement of commodities/services. The provisions of Section 215.422 F.S. concerning limitations of purchase approval and processing time, and for automatic imposition of penalties in the event of noncompliance are mandatory.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of various office procedures, practices, principles and techniques of effective communication.
- Knowledge of FLAIR the State's accounting system and MyFloridaMarketPlace eProcurement System.
- Knowledge of the State of Florida accounting principles, practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of good customer service practices.
- Skilled in auditing, reviewing, reconciling, or analyzing data for compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and require very minimal or no supervision.
- Ability to conduct interviews.
- Skilled as a problem solver, organizer and planner. Ability to identify work processes that must be changed to achieve goals.
- Ability to schedule activities and work products to meet established deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of supervisory experience.
- Four or more years of FLAIR experience.
- Two or more years of financial reporting experience.
- Experience in customer service.
- Experience performing data entry and/or maintaining databases and spreadsheets.
- Experience composing professional written correspondence.
- Experience and/or education in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Experience processing deposits, refunds and payments.
- Experience working with Credit Card System (CSR), Cashier Receipts System (CRS), Smart Cop or any other database excluding Excel.
- Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

- FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
