This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Finance and Accounting.

Salary: $41,097.16 Annual Rate

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

INMATE TRUST FUND:

• Responsible for operating multi-line main phone line for the Inmate Trust Fund section and assisting callers, researching inquiries, and/or routing calls appropriately to other staff members.
• Processes inmate trust fund entries into the automated accounting system.
• Assists in auditing accounting batches (electronically generated and manual), researches/resolves differences, prepares deposit slips as required.
• Audits daily disbursements/warrants and prepares for mailing.
• Prepares correspondence to internal and external parties.
• Processes daily mail.
• Researches and responds to inquiries from internal and external parties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or its equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience answering a multi-line phone.
• At least two (2) or more years of general accounting or auditing experience or one (1) or more years of post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance.
• At least two (2) or more years of experience applying accounting principles and/or procedural, administrative, or statutory regulations to daily work assignments to ensure compliance.
• At least one (1) or more years of experience preparing financial statements or reports using Word, Excel and/or automated accounting systems.
• At least one (1) or more years of experience in accounting system data entry.
• Experience with trust fund/fiduciary accounting.
